Khalal: Also known as Yellow Crunchy Dates. Yes, you read it right! These dates are a special and very seasonal breed found only during harvest time, which is twice a year (April & September). At this stage the fruit is almost round and pale yellow in colour. It’s mildly sweet and the flesh is thick and crisp like an apple and the flavour is rich, and delicate.
This is technically the stage when dates are fully ripened and have a light brown colour. They are soft melt in your mouth and has a caramel like flavour, simply nature's candy.
